Laurel Skincare is committed to using only organic or biodynamic whole plants sourced from artisan farms within 100 miles of their Lab. From seeding to harvesting, they ensure each plant is picked at its peak vitality. Their extracts are made in-house without chemical solvents to maintain their freshness and efficacy.
Their oils are the key to the product's effectiveness. They are organic, raw, unrefined, and pressed fresh for them. Unlike chemically refined oils, their oils retain their natural antioxidants and nutrients. Laurel Skincare prioritizes efficacy over commercial gain.
Just like their carrier oils, the essential oils are of exceptional quality. Laurel works with artisan master distillers to ensure purity and potency. They source certified organic and biodynamic oils to avoid contamination and provide impactful results. They believe it’s their responsibility to prioritize safe and sustainable farming methods.
Their hydrating products are crafted with organic or biodynamic hydrosols, distilled by the artisan farmers. These raw plant waters are cooling, soothing, and healing for the skin, making the formulas more effective. We skip traditional fillers like water, aloe, glycerin, or alcohol to maintain purity and potency.
Once the plants are harvested, they make their way to our apothecary-lab where we turn them into plant medicine for the skin.

Today, Sḵwálwen, an Indigenous skincare line, honors Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish) plant knowledge and traditions by using sustainably harvested organic plants to heal and protect the skin. Sḵwálwen means "heart" in Squamish, and each product carries a Squamish name, honoring the source of this wisdom.
